Dismissal Information

You may request a compliance dismissal of your citation, if you are charged with the following offense(s):

• Expired driver's license
• Expired motor vehicle registration
• Expired motor vehicle inspection
• Failure to change name or address on your driver's license
• Failure to display your driver's license
• Failure to maintain liability insurance
• Defective equipment
• Expired disabled parking placard

In order to qualify for a compliance dismissal you must provide the court with written documentation and proof that you brought the deficiencies into compliance on or before your initial appearance date and pay a $20 dollar dismissal fee depending on the violation.

If your citation and the supporting documentation meet the legal requirement(s) for dismissal, the violation will be dismissed and not reported to the Department of Public Safety as a conviction against your driving record.
