Mike Peacock

Mike began his life in public service in 1982 while serving as a volunteer firefighter in Crowley. He became the first paid member of the Crowley Fire Department in 1986 and was a Paramedic for more than 25 years. He began his service in Joshua in 2008 and served as Director of Operations and Assistant City Manager, and was appointed as City Manager in December 2020.

Mike holds a Master's Degree in Public Administration and a Bachelor’s Degree in Business Administration. He is a Certified Public Manager, graduating in 2010, and has completed the University of Texas Public Executive Institute in 2014 and the Texas Tech School of Public Finance in 2017.

He currently serves on the Board of the Chisholm Trail 100 Club and serves on the Executive Committee, and Chairs the Sporting Clay Shoot “100 Shots for the Club,” which raises more than $100K annually for local first responders.

Mike’s professional affiliations include the Texas City Managers Association, the North Texas City Managers Association, and the American Society for Public Administration.

Mike believes that local government should be an information source for the citizens, and coming to City Hall should provide answers and solutions. “Say Yes” whenever possible, and when not possible, try to find a way to resolve the issue. While responsible for every department in the city, he provides direct oversight to the Police Department, Fire Department, Parks and Recreation, Finance, and Administration.

Mike and his wife Michelle live in Joshua with their two sons, Matthew and Nathan.
