Code Enforcement

Responsibilities

Code Enforcement is responsible for maintaining and preserving the integrity of our city. The City of Joshua strives to provide its residents with a nice, clean environment to live in. The City tasks its code enforcement officer with the enforcement of Joshua City Ordinances. 

Code Enforcement is staffed by one code compliance officer and supervised by the Director of Development Services.

Goals

To encourage voluntary compliance and avoid punitive actions, also known as citations. A helping hand approach is more successful than the punitive approach as citizens may not be aware that their actions are in violation of city ordinances.
