Fire Prevention

The Fire Marshal is responsible for all Fire Prevention initiatives. This includes Fire Inspections and Plan Review for Fire Code Enforcement, Fire and Life Safety education, Public Education and outreach. The City of Joshua is currently under the 2015 International Fire Code with the NCTCOG Recommended Amendments.

Fire Investigations

The Fire Marshal is also responsible for the investigation of all fires and explosions within the corporate limits of the City of Joshua. The purpose of fire and explosion investigations is to determine where and how the fire or explosion happened. This can help identify trends in Fire Code violations or the need for prevention or education strategies. The Fire Marshal’s Office is also responsible for Professional Conduct investigations.
