Notice to all residents/customers of Circle K

On September 16, 2022, officers from the Joshua Police Department  responded to the Circle K, located at 100 S. Broadway, to investigate credit card “skimmers” found on four (4) fuel pumps. The credit card skimmers were located by a technician servicing the pumps. The technician indicated that the last documented service on the pumps was July 1, 2022. The skimmers were equipped with Blue Tooth technology, allowing data to be removed remotely. Customers who purchased fuel with a credit card or debit card at the Circle K between July 1, 2022 and September 16, 2022, are advised to report any fraudulent activity to their respective financial institutions. This matter remains under investigation by the Joshua Police Department.

Labor Day Holiday

Joshua Municipal Offices will be closed for the Labor Day Holiday on Monday, September 5th. Trash and recycling pickup will run on regular schedule. We hope everyone has a safe holiday!

Budget Public Hearing Notice- September 15, 2022

NOTICE OF PUBLIC HEARING

Notice is hereby given that the City Council of the City of Joshua, Texas will hold a public hearing on September 15, 2022, at 6:30 p.m. in the City Council Chamber located in City Hall, 101 South Main Street, Joshua, Texas.

The purpose of the public hearing is for consideration of the adoption of the proposed budget for the fiscal year beginning October 1, 2022 and ending September 30, 2023.  At this time all citizens of the City of Joshua will be given an opportunity to provide written or oral comments concerning the proposed budget.  Copies of the proposed budget are available for review with the City Secretary’s Office and on the City website at www.cityjoshuatx.us.

This budget is estimated to raise more revenue from property taxes than last year’s budget by an amount of $193,529 which is an 6.73% percent increase from last year’s budget.  The estimate property tax revenue to be raised from new property added to the roll this year is $286,193.

PRESS RELEASE
On June 14, 2022, the City Manager was made aware of a video of a verbal altercation between a Joshua Police Captain and another individual. The City Manager viewed the video and immediately notified the Police Chief around 12:00 PM that afternoon. Chief Gelsthorpe met with the Captain and by the close of business that same afternoon, the Captain was no longer employed by the City of Joshua.
The City of Joshua and the Joshua Police Department mandate the highest professional standards for all their employees.

ZONING BOARD OF ADJUSTMENT OF THE CITY OF JOSHUA NOTICE OF SUBSTANDARD ORDER #2022-0510-001

The Zoning Board of Adjustment for the City of Joshua, Texas, met on Thursday, May 5, 2022, to discuss the structure located at 200 Wayside Street, whose legal description is lot 1, block 1 of the Brumbach’s Addition.

Based on the evidence presented, the Zoning Board of Adjustment found that the property/structure is in violation of the City Code provisions relating to building safety and property maintenance and constitutes a dangerous and substandard building; and the Zoning Board of Adjustment has ordered the owner of the property to obtain a demolition permit, demolish, and remove the debris from the dangerous and substandard structure from the property in accordance with all applicable regulations and ordinances, within thirty (30) days from the date of this order;

Trash and Recycle Service Canceled February 24, 2022

Waste Connections has made the decision to cancel trash and recycling collection for Thursday, February 24, 2022.

Service will resume on the regular schedule next week.
