Animal Control Officer
The City of Joshua is accepting applications for Animal Control Officer. This position is a supervisory position which requires independent judgment, and is responsible for protecting residents from and educating the community about stray or vicious animals and related diseases. Duties include operating the animal shelter, capturing and impounding stray, vicious or injured animals; disposing of certain animals using humane methods; and record keeping and reporting. The successful candidate will be skilled in customer service and problem solving, have the ability to communicate effectively, work well with public and co-workers as well as in cooperaton with other agencies.
Requirements:
High school diploma or General Education Degree, at least two years experience related to animal care and control; supervisory experience preferred. Must possess a valid Class C Texas drivers license; basic certification from the Texas Department of Health as a Certified Animal Control Officer; certification in animal euthanasia.
Salary:
$30,000 – $40,000. DOQ EOE, paid group health and dental benefits. TMRS, paid vacation, sick leave, holidays, Employee Assistance Program and supplemental benefits available.
