Planning and Zoning Commission (P&Z) – This seven member commission is appointed by the City Council to advise on issues related to commercial and residential development, zoning and development plats. The Commission must comply with the procedural rules of Texas statutes and the City Zoning Ordinance. This Commission is the original forum in all platting and replatting cases. P&Z Commission meets the 1st Monday of the month at 6:30 pm
4A Economic Development Board

4B Economic Development Board

Zoning Board of Adjustments

Zoning Board of Adjustment – Considers appeals and adjustments of the City’s zoning ordinances. The Board hears and decides the following topics of appeals and applications insures continuing compliance with its decision. The Board of Adjustment, in specific cases, may authorize or order the following:
- Interpretations
- Permits for Nonconformities
- Discontinuance of Nonconformities
- Variances
Variances can be granted on the concurring vote of seventy-five percent of the members of the Board. The Board also serves as the Builders Board of Appeals. Appeals from the action of this Board are not taken to the City Council. The only appeal is by petition to the appropriate court of record. The City Attorney defends the actions of the Board. Zoning Board of Adjustment meets as needed when there is a variance request.
