Dogs – $55.00
Includes first set of shots, intra-nasal bordatella (kennel cough) worming, rabies coupon, micro chip.
Cats – $50.00
Includes first set of shots, worming, micro-chip and rabies coupon.
All animals 6 months or older adopted from Shelter must be spayed or neutered within 14 days of adoption. All animals 6 months and younger must be spayed or neutered by their 6 month birthday.
Rabies vaccinations and city licenses are done on a yearly basis.
Micro-Chip – $20.00 (must have current proof of rabies). City residents must purchase city license at same time. Sterilized – $5.00 Unsterilized $10.00
Non-Residents may purchase micro-chip with current proof of rabies.
Same year that micro-chip is purchased, a free city license will be given the following year with current proof of rabies.
Leash Law – all dogs must be restrained with a leash or behind a fence at all times. Fence must be secure to prevent dog from escaping. Dogs that are picked up running at large must be spayed or neutered within 30 days of reclamation.
Anti-Tethering Law – Dogs may not be tied to a stationary object. Dogs must be on a cable run or trolley system. Dogs that are tied must be on a chain or cable that is at least 10 feet in length or 5 times the length of the body or which ever is greater. The chain or cable must be affixed to a collar that is of the buckle type. You may not use a choke chain, prone type or wrap the cable or chain around the dog’s neck.
Cats do not have a leash law, but all cats must be spayed or neutered to be outside. They must have a current rabies vaccination, city license and a micro-chip. Cats that leave their own property may be humanely trapped and brought to animal control. Cats that are picked up and not spayed or neutered must be done within 30 days of reclamation.
Live traps are available to residents to remove unwanted animals. There is a $50.00 deposit.
