About Animal Services

Joshua Animal Services is a division of the City of Joshua Administration Department. Animal Services works to help protect the health, safety, and welfare of both people and animals within the community. From puppies, kittens, dogs, and cats, as well as assistance with local wildlife, we are here to help! 

Goal

Our goal is to provide services to the public promptly and with professionalism and compassion for those animals that cannot speak for themselves. 

Responsibilities

  • Enforce city ordinances
  • Provide a safe haven for unwanted or lost pets in Joshua
  • Reduce pet overpopulation
  • Return lost pets to their homes
  • Provide information and resources for the community
  • Re-home pets into loving, permanent homes

Veterinary Services

The City of Joshua Animal Shelter does not provide medical attention to any animal. If your pet is sick, you will need to contact a veterinarian for assistance.

Reporting a concern

If an emergency call 911. Examples of emergencies -  Animal Bites, Animal Attacks, Critically ill or injured animals, and Safety Hazards such as loose cows or horses in the roadway.

Animal Adoption

Available Animals

Joshua Animal Services has a variety of dogs and cats available for adoption. All animals (if of age) are fully vaccinated and spa spayed or neutered prior to adoption.
