The CITY OF JOSHUA, TEXAS will receive proposals for a Construction Manager at Risk for the construction of Joshua City Park until 2:00 PM, October 5, 2009 at Joshua City Hall, 101 S. Main Street, Joshua, Texas 76058, (817) 558-7447.

The Request for Proposals (RFP) may be obtained by contacting Mike Peacock, Director of Operations at Joshua City Hall, 101 S. Main, Joshua, Texas, 76058 or by phone at (817) 558-7447.

Attention is called to the fact that the applicant must ensure that the employees and applicants for employment are not discriminated against because of their race, color, religion, sex, or national origin.

The CITY OF JOSHUA reserves the right to reject any and all proposals.

In order to assure that all potential Construction Managers receive any corrections or addendums to the request for proposal, an official “Bidder’s List” will be maintained at  City Hall.  Any notices on changes in the Request for Proposal will be sent to those on the “Bidder’s List” and the City will not be held responsible for those not on the list.

SEALED PROPOSALS addressed to the Mayor and Council of the City of Joshua, Texas will be received at the office of the City Secretary, 101 South Main Street, Joshua, Texas 76058 until – 1:00 PM (Local Time) On August 11, 2009 for the purpose of furnishing all plant material, irrigation, tree lighting, labor, materials and equipment and the performance of all work required in the construction of the Landscape Improvements on Joshua Station Boulevard at which time and place the proposals will be publicly opened and read aloud and retained by the City Engineer for tabulation, checking and evaluation.

BIDS shall be submitted in sealed envelopes upon the blank form of proposal furnished.  Sealed envelopes shall be marked LANDSCAPE IMPROVEMENTS ON JOSHUA STATION BOULEVARD – DO NOT OPEN UNTIL 1:00 PM ON AUGUST 11, 2009.

PLANS AND SPECIFICATIONJS and contract documents may be examined without charge at the City Engineer’s office (101 South Main Street) or at the engineering firm of Teague, Nall and Perkins, Inc. (1100 Macon Street, Fort Worth, Texas 76102 (817) 336-5773).  Copies of said documents may be obtained from the engineering firm of Teague, Nall and Perkins, Inc. upon a non-refundable payment of $20.00 per set.

In case of ambiguity or lack of clearness in stating propsosal prices, the City of Joshua reserves the right to adopt the most advantageous construction thereof, or to reject any or all bids.  No bid may be withdrawn within sixty (60) days after date on which bids are opened.

On June 29, 2009 at approximately 1:10 am, the Joshua Fire Department received a report that Burrows Pro-Cision Transmission at 629 N. Broadway St. in Joshua was on fire.  Arson is believed to be the cause of the fire from evidence at the crime scene.  Anyone with information is asked to contact Det. Ron Redding with the Joshua Police Department at 817-558-3999, or Crimestoppers at 1-800-794-TIPS.  You can remain anonymous and collect rewards up to $1,000 for the arrest and conviction of person/persons responsible for this crime.

The City of Joshua will be conducting a “Summer Clean-Up” on July 10-12, 2009 from 7:00 am to 7:00 pm. 

1.   Proof of residency will be required.

2.  There will be a $5.00 charge for disposal of tires and batteries.

3.  Car parts, paint, chemicals, or any appliance with a compressor (refrigerators or air conditioners) will not be accepted.

To ensure a smooth traffic flow, please enter on 6th Street and after disposing of items exit on 10th Street.
